  Dr Doug Warne

MBBS, FRACGP, ACRRM, Paediatrics, Dip Obs/Gyn, Registrar Supervisor, Regional Academic Leader – University of Wollongong Graduate School of Medicine

Dr Doug Warne has been working at King Street Medical Centre, now (Murwillumbah Family Doctors), since 1997, and been a Supervisor of Registrar Training for over 20. Doug graduated from Newcastle University with Honours in 1991, is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine, and has further attained his Diploma of Paediatrics  and Diploma Of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

Dr Doug is passionate about mentoring the next generation of rural doctors and has been appointed as the Regional Academic Leader for the University of Wollongong Graduate School of Medicine.

He has extensive experience across all areas of general practice, with particular interests in paediatrics, obstetrics, allergy management, travel medicine, and chronic disease management. Dr Doug also performs comprehensive skin checks and skin cancer excisions.

From 2000 to 2008, he served as the Tweed Valley Immunisation Project Manager and has represented general practice on the National Immunisation Committee. Dr Doug is trained and accredited to administer both Yellow Fever and Q Fever vaccinations.

Dr Doug enjoys living in the beautiful Tweed Valley and has raised 4 children here, with extensive involvement in local sporting and cultural groups. His interests include surfing, bush-walking and soccer and he has captained the Australian Soccer Team at the world Medical Football Championships.
